TONARI is a short game made with an old game engine called CLASSIC CONSTRUCT.
That's why it needs specificaly DirectX 9 from August 2008 installed on your computer to run properly. It should already be installed on your computer but, if not and the game doesn't run, please follow this safe & official Microsoft URL to download & install it:

Having DirectX9 and a more recent version installed in parrallel should not cause troubles.
